The Gale Standen Family and Training Institute is a premier center for addiction education. We’re committed to hosting regular training sessions throughout the year. These valuable sessions are open to many professionals, including clinicians, recovery advocates, doctors, nurses, teachers, and first responders.
Through group practice and skills development, we address the nature of addiction as a three-fold illness affecting body, mind, and spirit. We can create a meaningful and purposeful life driven by personal accountability, spiritual growth, and connection to a supportive recovery community.

About Gale Standen
The institute’s namesake, Gale Standen, played a pivotal role in the recovery journey of David Elliott, Burning Tree’s President & Founder. In 1991, when David entered Eagle Crest Ranch treatment center in Tucson, Arizona, he met Gale, who became his mentor and helped establish his path to permanent freedom from addiction.
Years later, with Gale’s unwavering support and stewardship, David founded Burning Tree Ranch, which has become the nation’s only authentic long-term treatment center for chronic addiction. Since its inception, Burning Tree has evolved into a nationally recognized treatment program.
Both Burning Tree Ranch and Burning Tree Lodge are a testament to Gale’s incredible passion for love, service, and excellence. Now, more than 30 years later, we are beyond grateful to name Burning Tree’s newest legacy in her honor: The Gale Standen Family and Training Institute.
